About this product

Siberian Green Food Premium Quality Pine Nuts

Nut Harvesting:

The nuts are harvested in Altai. This area is devoid of paved roads and cities for hundreds of miles, featuring only untouched wild forests. The nuts are handpicked using traditional methods. Harvesters use wooden sticks to avoid damaging the trees. Mature cones fall off when the trunks are struck with the sticks, leaving young cones for the next harvest on the branches.

Nut Processing:

The factory operates using equipment from the Swiss company Buhler, ensuring high-quality mechanical processing of the nuts. No chemicals are used in the processing. Nuts that enter the cracking line will be processed and vacuum-packed within 24 hours. During this time, they will be separated from their shells, washed, dried, and sorted by color and quality. Only pine nuts are processed at the facility; no other nuts are processed.

Taste Qualities of Our Pine Nuts:

The kernels are light-beige in color. Vacuum packaging ensures longer shelf-life as it prevents contact with air, keeping the nut from turning bitter or spoiling. The pine nuts have a sweet and rich taste. Unlike other producers, we do not remove fats, moisture, or other nutrients from the nuts.

The nut is perfect for consuming straight from the pack. It can also be pan-roasted, enhancing its flavor. It is an excellent addition to dishes such as:

  • For Gourmets: Grilled Zucchini With Feta Cheese and Roasted Pine Nuts
  • For Veggie Addicts: Roasted Broccoli Seasoned With Lemon and Pine Nuts
  • For Sweet Tooths: Pine Nut Cookies
  • For Pine Nut Fans: Pasta With Pine Nut Sauce
  • For Classic Recipe Lovers: Pesto

From the Altai taiga to your kitchen

The cones are collected by hand in autumn in Siberian pine forests far from roads and cities. After drying, the nuts are separated from the cones, sorted and shelled, then vacuum-packed within hours so the delicate oils do not oxidize.

How to use them

Eat a handful as a snack, toast them for 2 to 3 minutes in a dry pan for salads and pasta, blend into pesto, or bake them into cookies. See our recipes in the journal.

Frequently asked questions

How are Siberian pine nuts different from the pine nuts in supermarkets?

Most supermarket pine nuts come from Chinese or Korean pines (large, elongated kernels) or from Mediterranean stone pines. Siberian pine nuts are smaller, rounder and have a softer, more buttery flavor with no bitter aftertaste.

How long do they keep?

Unopened vacuum bags keep for 12 months in a cool, dark place. After opening, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 months or freeze for up to a year.

Are they roasted or raw?

Raw. The kernels are shelled mechanically and packed without heat treatment, oil or salt, so you can eat them as they are or toast them lightly at home.
